After a long period of grey screen I got a flashing folder with a question mark on it. I physically pulled out the WD drive with my two working OS's and put my SSD in slot 1 and tried to boot. I hit restart and after a long pause and black screen it boots me into 10.7.5 not High Sierra on my SSD! When I am in High Sierra it shows the SSD as being there. When I boot into High Sierra I go to Start Up Disk and select the SSD. When I boot into 10.7.5 it shows that I have an unreadable disk (the SSD) which I just tell it to ignore. I have the option of booting to 10.7.5 or high Sierra from my WD drive when I hold down the option key but my SSD is not shown. Now the 3,1 won't boot using the the SSD. I cloned the High Sierra drive last week using CCC and everything worked for at least a little while. (named High SIerra Test) which was on a partition of my 1GB WD Caviar drive, which also includes also OS 10.7.5 on another partition (called Boot Drive clone). I used Carbon Copy Cloner to make a copy of my High Sierra O.S. I recently bought a Pro6g 480 GB SSD drive for my Mac Pro 3,1.
